Amp Problems

Just got my Rockford P550.2 amplifier and its giving me problems :S....wen i increase the volume on the deck the amp cuts out. The power light stays on the protection light doesnt come on neither dis the thermal light. Can someone explain to me why this is happening??? :unsure:

bad ground, upgrade your power and ground to 4 gauge if it isnt already. and where is your ground located at

and the gain and/or bass boost might be up too high

I have to runs of 0guage positive and negative. ground comes straight from the Battery and the gain is on half and i use the amp for Mids not bass

Well I also have a ROckford T20001BD in the jeep and that does not cut out

check the speakers that are on the amp, one bad coil could mess it up, and like others said, double check the grounds, power and remote at the amp as well as verify the power at the amp (make sure its 12+volts) with a multi meeter

to trouble shoot you have to check off each thing even if you *know* its rite,... the littlest thing can mess it up

Well its not the speakers cause i also tried other speakers, my grounds are good i checked them already, the only thing i did check was the remote i'll check it now and get back to yall .... i'll also try the amp in another vehicle

did you say the ground on your amp is going the battery????

you gotta ground it onto the body/frame of the car.

The amp only supports up to 4 gauge power/ground, so make sure its 4 gauge and not 8.

It's fine grounded to the battery....

all my wiring is fine. I tried the amp in another vehicle n its doing the same thing. It still cuts out wen volume is increase :S
