CstrokerV Posted November 12, 2019 Report Posted November 12, 2019 which ever one you prefer... my build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/142505-small-build-log-4-dc-lvl3-10s-tl-update-link-to-rebuild/ http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/154258-rebuild-6-lvl3-12s-update-small-video-nothing-spectacular/ new build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/188181-03-trailblazer-slow-build-8-dc-lvl3-12-m1-motor-m2-parts/
cripz0062 Posted November 13, 2019 Author Report Posted November 13, 2019 Thank's, So because of the box size I need to choose the number 2 (under the speaker) Here in milimeter the size of the box : I make some simulation about the port, can you confirm please ? I choose 17 in2 of port area, Based on subboxpro :
cripz0062 Posted November 13, 2019 Author Report Posted November 13, 2019 Because of my installation, It would be easier for me to put the port in the middle of the box under the speaker, I need 22.82" of port length, can I do a "T" port ? I have 3cm of free space each side :
bmwking Posted November 13, 2019 Report Posted November 13, 2019 if you do go with a "t" port, youll want a lot of bracing on the port itself. also make sure you deduct the total volume of the port from the internal volume of your box, if you go with that design. if possible, try to move the port all the way to the bottom of the enclosure so it shares a common wall with the enclosure. if that's not possible due to obstructions, can you put it at the top? it will be much much stronger if you do.
cripz0062 Posted November 13, 2019 Author Report Posted November 13, 2019 Yes I can put it on a edge. I made a CAD drawing, look what it will done, what do you think?
cripz0062 Posted November 14, 2019 Author Report Posted November 14, 2019 With this setup, and port on one side, I have 5 inch of free space between other side of box and the port tunnel
bmwking Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 im not an expert by any means, but your latest port confuses me. what i meant by my suggestion is can you use option #2 from your original post, but put the port all the way on the bottom of the enclosure so that it shares a common wall with the bottom of the enclosure?
cripz0062 Posted November 15, 2019 Author Report Posted November 15, 2019 Excuse my English... I can put it a the bottom but it was better for me to put it at the middle, the hole in my cab would be smaller. I put the port all the way to the side to use the common wall
cripz0062 Posted November 21, 2019 Author Report Posted November 21, 2019 Hi , Can you tell me if I ='m wright with how I calculate the leng of the port? I use this to mesure on my CAD drawing the plans : Was that orange line good? I had the lenght I have circled :
