meade916
its that time again! Every couple of years i build a new gaming PC...because i have that sickness. If you have been here for a while you know how many towers i have built over the years and posted here...and a BUNCH more i never posted. I have done triple SLI, dual loop liquid cooling with bigger radiators than some cars (exaggerating of course). I LOVE a full liquid cooled tower as much as the next guy but my last build was just on limited water (CPU only). Why? because when you have $1500 just in plumbing with intricate tubes, pumps, resies, blocks and everything else it takes to do that, it makes it a HUGE pain in the ass when you want to upgrade your video cards. As i predicted, it was AWESOME to upgrade from the 1080ti to the 2080ti and not have to mess with any water (last tower). That is the reason i am doing this again. Oh, i can make the SICKEST liquid cooled setup you can imagine....but i like the ease of the upgrade better. For now anyway. So that is what i did on this build too. Oh...and since my old tower is still REALLY good, i gave it to my son. I asked him if he wanted to build me my new PC and if he did, he could have the old one. I still have the 2 old 1080ti's that i took out last year he can put them back in and be on his way. Of COURSE he jumped at that chance. I taught him everything over the years and he has gotten so good at everything, i don't even think twice letting him take the reigns Proud of you son! Enjoy your new PC, i will mine! meade916
I looked and looked and i didn't like ANYTHING i saw really...so i just got another Corsair tower. It's a 750D (FULL size). It should do the trick just fine. I don't need a tower to look like a space ship or a robot. I just like a nice clean, classy tower. He makes me proud beyond words. MY BOY. meade916
BUILD BUILD BUILD! I can't describe how many towers i have built on momma-birds kitchen table. She is always supportive...but don't like when we scratch it If you are wondering why i didn't do a full liquid cooled setup (GPU's and all), please read the very first words i typed at the top of this page. Yes, i can afford it. Yes i know how to do it. Yes i have done it several times...but i have my reasons not to also. (read above). Corsair RAM has NEVER givin' me a problem...so i continue to use it. Fill up them Sluts! 1 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 1,000,000 subscribers strong! meade916
No, i honestly don't care if you prefer AMD. I don't care what you think is better. Unless you are building and writing the check or sliding your card for this build, none of that matters. I like INTEL and NVIDIA. So i went with the 9900k. This is the fanciest packaging i have ever seen a CPU show up in I should be able to take this to 5ghz no problem Not a bad lineup of soldiers! This is JUST the m.2's too....the 970 Pro is like 6 times faster read/write than the 860 evo's so of course that will be my boot drive. Time to take my 2080Ti's back! This is my old tower. Ant-dog is about to get yet another BEAST hammy down from pops. Both my sons alternate who gets dad's 2 year old hammy downs It's his turn again. meade916
I took all my old drives out of the old tower EXCEPT the Toshiba m.2 main drive. He can keep that and wipe it clean...use it for his "new" tower. I have a gang of SSD's and a couple of "deep storage" spinning drives. I HATE spinning drives but they are huge and have a lot of stuff i just save that i don't want to get rid of but i know i don't use much. A Samsung 840 (1TB) and a 850 (1TB) SSD moving over to the new tower. Seagate 2TB and 3TB spinners for that extra deep storage. His PC looking and working great with the original cards back in it.
