What's your budget like? About the difference: Yes, if you get a more powerful amp it WILL make a difference. I assume that right now you are bridging the amp to both coils of the sub (wired in series for a 4 ohm load) and getting about 200 watts. You're underpowering the sub by a good bit. A 450 ~ 500 Watt @ 1ohm would do you good.
punchman
i was looking at the rockford fosgate p6002 amplifier, since i work at bestbuy i could get the amp at almost half price which is 250ish..... what amp would you say is good for the cvr 2 15" Kicker L7's + Hifonics BXI 2006

Dale
Generally, Rockford Fosgate is a more desirable brand than hifonics, but this amp is a class A/B amp. It will be more inefficient than the hifonics which is a class D. But it will have less distortion. Distortion you shouldn't worry about since you'll be using it for bass and will not be able to detect it. I say go with the hifonics. It's cheaper, easier on your alternator and has more than enough clean power for that sub.
