Duel alternators

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, new to the group.  I am working on a 1998 Chevy Tahoe 5.7 engine.  Do the make a duel alternator kit for these trucks where you can keep the a/c.  The factory alt is on passenger side and the a/c line runs right over top of the factory alternator. I know the duel kits put 2 alts in that place so what are people doing with a/c line to the condenser.  Is there a different a/c line you can use or a way to move the line out of the way. Thanks for any info.

They make a kit to add 1 alternator on the passenger side next to the stock alt location for 2 alts total. You nay have to remove your factory air box though for this kit.

They also make a kit to add 2 alternators on the driver side next to the ac compressor plus your stock alt location for 3 alts total (what I have on my Tahoe).

You can run 4 alts total on these engines without removing ac or anything else. Pretty sure there is another bracket for 5 or 6 alts total but its pricey and what JP has on his Tahoe.
