Slot Port limititations

Does this apply to bottom slotted ports as well?

Interesting didn’t know this but then again I’m just now trying to get into designs so if my port is 35” wide and box is say to make it easy it’s 36” deep I couldn’t have more than a 1” deep port? Or am I misunderstanding sorry I’ve been up since 3am brain is at its fried point

If so I’ve had a bad design from what I felt was a very well known audio expert I had a design with a 25” wide port on a box that was 24” deep with port being 15.5 deep

The port width not the box width.  You could have a 40" wide box and a port that's the whole width. But if the port is 8" tall it needs to be at least 8" from the back of the wall.  Same as if you have a 25" tall box and port is the whole height and 10 " wide. Port has to be 10" of the back wall.  If it's not you are for a lack of better terms suffocating your port/changing tuning.

Gotcha I guess cause I’m doing a port on bottom I was confusing width bc Technically the height would be the width
