90 sqaure inches is about right.

how many preamp out puts are on your cd player? 3, 2, 1? are you using the preamp out put for the sub channel, and not plugged into a front or rear channel?

is there a sub volume in the menus of the cd player where you can turn it up?

What ohm voice coils do you have on your sub?, how do you have the sub wired up. Chances are its going to be something really cheezy why your not having the bass you need.

Im starting to think that your not using the right set of preamp outputs if you need to have loud and bass all the way up to here bass. Thats not right at all.

Thats what i am thinking its just some lil thing that i cant find but i only have one set of rca outputs

could it be that the cd player is bad bc i am about to upgrade my cd player anyways?

and i have it wired down to 1 ohm

That maybe most of your problem, its not really a sub output, not that it matters too much, but compaired to a newer headunit you will get sub controls such as volume, crossover settings etc. Im also guessing that your output voltage is really low too since it seems to be a semi cheaper or older unit with only one preamp output, meaning you should have to have your amp gain nearly all the way up, but not fully.

Can you go out and look at the model number of the cd player? it should say someplace on the face of it.
