jonathancullen89 Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 alright since ed is having a sale and i have the cash i want to get four of these subs, well i am. i will be ordering them tomarrow but i am going to need a different amp. since they are dual 4 ohm i need an amp that puts out alot of power at 2 ohms, i dont want to risk going down to .5 ohms so that isnt an answer. for now i have a stock alternator, 90 amp i believe, so i cannot over do anything (gain turned down for now so i dont ruin anything). i really need help pickin an amp, i know kickers do max power at 2 ohms but what else is out there. i need something really efficient. another option would be to get two mono amps that can go down to 1 ohm so 1 amp per 2 subs. for all four subs i want about 800wrms-900wrms goin to them, i want each subwoofer to have about 200-300wrms. i dont really want to break the bank, just because whatever money i have extra will be going to electrical in the car but if you have any amps in mind. 1992 cavalier build 1992 blazer s10 kenwood cd hifonics hfi2500d 6 soon to be 12 12" hifonics hfi12d4's shit ton-o-wire Blurred Vision Audio Team SMD feedback/refs. clicky!-

Stephen Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 Good luck with those subs i bought some and they glue joints on them failed. you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. DC POWER

jonathancullen89 Posted May 23, 2008 Author Report Posted May 23, 2008 alright well i wanted to order these tomarrow as a grad present to myself =) but if the ED suck then i need something else. i want to be louder the Bass14's dc's so i was going with cone area/ bout same amount of power but if that isnt the ed's suck i dont know what do get. right now i have about $300 for subs, then ill be gettin an amp, alt, bigger wire hopefully. i want to be able to see out my back window so a full wall wouldnt work, was thinkin maybe 3 of the mach5 audio 18's in a big ported box but idk. right now i have one lightning audio subwoofer and it sounds good for what it is, but its not loud enough. i want loud and low, i dont really care about numbers but i want it to hurt a lil when you get in there. any idea's would be great, gotta use granny's credit card and she will be here 2morrow so i need some info fast. thanks everyone! 1992 cavalier build 1992 blazer s10 kenwood cd hifonics hfi2500d 6 soon to be 12 12" hifonics hfi12d4's shit ton-o-wire Blurred Vision Audio Team SMD feedback/refs. clicky!-
