Travelle
I just ordered 2 sundown E12 v4 4ohm and was wondering if a hifonics Zeus ZG1200.1D would be good enough to power both subs. I currently have this amp powering 2 Kicker compR 12s and it does just fine powering both of those at 1ohm. I know these love power and I know the hifonics are overrated at what they say they can do. Would I be better off getting a new amp or could I get away this one? Also would could under powering brand new subs that haven’t been broken in fully cause damage to the subs? Joe X
The hifonics Zeus ZG1200.1D is a 600W RMS amp @ 1 ohm your subs are 500W RMS each both the kicker or the sundown. It is recommended that your amp has at least the same RMS power as the subs it's driving so a 1000W RMS amp. Said that if you are comfortable with the output level you might as well keep the amp. In fact running a 600w amp means that you will not be needing electrical upgrades in most vehicles.
1point21gigawatts
You won’t be able to tell the diffence between the subwoofers. So buying new subwoofers isn’t smart unless you wanna build a new box and then them subwoofers subwoofers would be the way to go and would sound better than what you have now. And that amp is underrated and does 800 rms. So you are good. Reply so Joe can design you a box on this one. Don’t message him. Reply on here. It’s free. Then we can see from there. 1point21gigawatts
Joe, quit charging people money for box designs. Do it for free or don’t do it. Do this one for free and show us you can design and actually care more about the customer than the business.
