greg4510 Posted November 27, 2024 Report Posted November 27, 2024 Hi guys I currently have a 2007 Cadillac escalade with 4 avatar stu 15s on 2 deaf bonce asa 8000.1 in a c-pillar flat wall tuned to 34. I'm currently in the process of selling the 15s and thinking of 2 avatar svl1547 or 2 resilient sounds platinum v2 18s with an 8000.1 on each in a 4th order. So my question is would i be losing by switching or just as loud
Joe X Posted November 28, 2024 Report Posted November 28, 2024 It doesn't lokk like the avatar svl1547s will work on 4th order bandpass, neither will the 15s you currently have. Also a box firing forward is not necessarily a wall, you need to seal off and B pillar will be more effective than C pillar. Lastly you don't provide your box design or specify your electrical, so it's hard to tell if any issues you have come from those. If you want to go for a 4th bandpass look for subs that optimize in that type of enclosure and look for someone very serious to design your enclosure and make sure everything is performing at it's top or you are going to endlessly keep buying new hardware without getting good results.
greg4510 Posted November 28, 2024 Author Report Posted November 28, 2024 I have dual alt setup with a 320amp dedicated to a 200ah yinlong bank charging at 15.1. And the box that is in the truck now is completely sealed off firing forward. I'm currently selling the avatar 15s tomorrow morning. I'm also a deaf bonce, Sundown, resilient sounds, dd audio dealer so I have plenty of options
greg4510 Posted November 28, 2024 Author Report Posted November 28, 2024 Also would I lose by switching to 2 18s with the 2asa 8000.1 vs the 4 15s with the same power
Joe X Posted November 28, 2024 Report Posted November 28, 2024 Among those you mention, at least Sundown has many drivers that can be candidates for 4th order bandpass. Call sundown for help and they might get you in contact with a builder, tell them the amps and electrical you have and what are your goals To be honest you really need the help, there are many people endlessly wasting money and time and never getting the results they want.
greg4510 Posted November 28, 2024 Author Report Posted November 28, 2024 OK joe x I've seen your name alot with nothing but good comments so I trust your opinion and suggestions. I have 48w-34h-26d dimensions to work with. I've decided on the 2 resilient sounds platinum v2 18s in a c-pillar wall(wanna keep all 4 seats in the truck) nothing 4th order just ported wall and I can seal it off. Deaf bonce asa 8000.1 in each looking to play daily. I would greatly appreciate a box suggestion that would help so I can do exactly what you said and stop buying equipment
