I wanted a good entry level system...Kenwood KVT-512 7 inch touch screen.Went with alpine... 2 Type R 15's @ 4ohms powered by 2 MRP-M1000 amps, dual 2 farad caps, Type R 6x9's and 5x1/4's, Optima battery and HO Alt soon to come. Some T4's maybe Christian, you will find out soon what your subs sound like, dont worry about it. Its cool you have your opinion even though i dont remember you sitting in my ride or even coming close to the window. listen to me, im the only one here that REALLY knows. The new ones ARE BETTER. They do need breaking in though they are still stiff as a board........they dont smoke with 2 1/2 times the RMS though like some woofers i seen so thats another plus. No offense but im sure there are other people that had experience with the old and new to. And that not smoking with 2 1/2 times the power well i dont know how many people i saw smoke there btl's with saz-3000d's,zx 2500.1's and so on on various builds and it was the older models so i cant really say anything about the new 1's. It could be the install so im not saying its the subs but im pretty sure Alot of subs can have 2 1/2 times its rms and stand strong as long as you know what your doing. But maybe im alittle baise(spell check pls) because i ran 2 18" btl's(older version) and didnt like them at all. Car Audio + Bodyboarding/Longboarding = LIFE!!! Thats the point of that comment. I Dont remember seeing anyone blowing a BTL (just because i didnt see it dont mean it didnt happen) but a lot of people were breaking tinsels.....that isnt "blown". That matter has been taken care of with the new sandwiched in tinsels.... i know a lot of subs can take as much power.....i was being a smart ass because HIS DIDNT. Well it seemed as that comment was like you were the only person to try both out thats all. I have seen 3 myself actual blow and i have seen 2 with that tinsel problem. But i havent been around as many btl's as you. But yes like we both stated any sub can take more than rms AS LONG AS YOU KNOW WHAT OU ARE DOING. But no pun inteneded here.
