ok so lately ive been hearing kids calling that thing on the trunk that ment to provide down force on the rear of the car a wing.

all my life i have known it as a spoiler.

in fact wings and spoilers are exact opposites. spoilers keep u down wings make u fly.

so tell me wuts up with this. when did they start becoming wings?

They're wings if they're the stupid ugly ricey ones. They're spoilers if they're stock looking.

I've used that as general reference for about 10 years I guess.

ive always heard the ricey ones called whale tail spoilers

I've used that as general reference for about 10 years I guess.

i've known/called them the exact opposite. wings are the smaller, stock ones. that's how i've seen them described by manufacturers and such. spoilers are the big juicy aftermarket ones
