Boon Posted June 8, 2008 Report Share Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) Sensitivity numbers are the second-most lied about statistics on a sub (after power ratings) because they are all measured in different ways. The Atomic APXX18 is one of the most efficient subs around if I remember right. I would say the Holee S is pretty lies. Keep in mind that the DD subs that are setting world records are only rated at something like 88dB/1w/1m. Also consider that a low power handling sub is naturally going to have very high sensitivity, due to lightweight cones, soft spiders and lightweight coils - and vice-versa with an SPL sub. When you're throwing 25kw at it I don't think sensitivity will matter much, box design plays a far bigger part. Edited June 8, 2008 by Boon Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
