jizazz12 Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 I have a 2005 hyundai sonata,I have two fosgate 12's (p3s) in a slot port encloser firing into the trunk.It sound's good but i'm wondering if I turn the encloser tword the front of the car will i get better sound out of the box.An installer told me that my ports weren't getting enough air but befor i installed the system i checked with fosgate and there tech told me that as long as i had four to six inches of open space in front of the prts i would be good and i have about seven. just wandering if any of you guys had any input on this. 2007 Chevy Impala LS 1 Crescendo 3KWP 1Crescendo C1000/4 2 DC lvl 4 15's with lvl5 dual .7 coils 1Audio Control Matrix 1 Pioneer P880PRS 1 300 amp Iraggi alt All power runs done with Knu flex 0/1 guage 1 optima yellow top under the hood 1 XS 5100 and two Deka's in the trunk 4 Crescendo MP-8 mid bass drivers 2 DB Drive p5 5 D Pro Audio tweeters
Chris Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 usually aiming them backwards into the trunk is louder & sounds better UNLESS you seal the trunk off & aim your subs into the cabin forcing all air pressure to go into the cabin. 4 15" FI Q D2's in 12 cubes tuned to 32hz 1- T1000.1bd's 3 Maxx 29 deep cycles 4 runs of 1/0 gauge -Big 3 -Trunk sealed off from the cabin Custom 15.8 dual-volt switching MLA module All in a CAR.
wL<3bass Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 The "room" infront of the ports is not the only thing that reduces it....You have to have enough space around the enclosure (to the top and sides) also lowering you seats will make it slightly louder other thing is they are 12" p3s they are only gonna get so loud...before they don't sound good anymore.
