I think I saw a vid where Steve offerred em some hearing protection, if they wanted it. young kids maybe need it moreso than adults.

I am still not believing that it is hitting 158 for each and every demo (is it?) I know it's loud and all, but he's not demo-ing it on the street with its full 158 potential.

I don't know, when I first came to this site I was shocked to see that he didn't wear some ear plugs or something.

I have only been around a 6000 watt system onec many years ago, and it wasn't my ears that hurt, it was the inside of my head, and my chest that hurt, until I jumped out of the Jeep.

My Dad swears that many dbs can cause physical problems sooner than it would hurt ears, but he also says why would you build something that can get that loud, if you can not really listen to it that loud, (like tones vs music).

Oh well, I chalk it all up to Steve must know what he's doin, cause he can still hear with no problems, and he also has not busted his windshields, so he must know the limits of hearing and glass!

Maybe he has one of those number taker roll machines and a stack of waivers to sign before you get in. Now blasting listener #700, please report to the passenger side loading area!

I'm a regular on ecoustics and yea our forum does look like sh1t. No denying that. But just an fyi for those who don't know who Zac Davis is (the person who called Steve Meade an idiot), is a world record holder (I think) and used/might still do high 160's. I'm sure Steve knows who Zac is. So for those of you who were calling Zac Davis a retard with P1's, well, he's far from an idiot. As for taking sides on this argument, I'm not getting into it cause I have nothing t gain from it. I have the ultimate respect for Steve Meade and all of his builds and have the ultimate respect for Zac Davis and everything he does. I just wanted to shed some light on who Zac was. Hell, I would love to hear Meade's system if I'm ever in Cali.

Who cares who he is the way he went about it was just immature.

I never said he was right with the way he went about it. I just wanted to shed light on who it was coming from. Some people thought it was some noob who has little experience with audio. Zac came off a bit critical in my opinion but the point he is trying to make is a valid one. He's just suggesting to Meade to maybe have some sort of protection that he can fall back on in case shit hits the fan.
