I was told by one of AQ's sales guys that the hdc3's are almost the same woofer as the dd3500's. The only thing the AQ HDC3 series subs have in common with the DD3500 series is that final assembly of the HDC3 is done by Resonance and they share the same basket. Everything else is diff including the motor design and soft parts. The HDC3 series is best compaired to the DD9500 as far as output and performance. The only thing they share is a common basket.
