Well not for me but for a buddy..for some reason i have the hardest time matching amps for highs so maybe u fellas could help me out... He's got 4 polk audio speakers (all of them 4 ohms and each 60 watts rms) and two shitty tweeters he got from walmart which are harsh as shit...Im talking him into some new ones so well edicate about 60 watts to each tweeter for the future...Sooo, around 360 to 400 watts rms...Im not sure how all of the wiring would work so i need some help...assuming all speakers were 4 ohms each, what amp should i get and how would i wire it?

get 4 speakers he has and 4 more tweets and put 1 speaker and 1 tweet together for a 2ohm load and then just get a 4 ch amp that is 120-+ wrms at 2ohms x4

Good idea, but he wants to keep his car stock, so it would be tough to add tweets...He has an 04 mazda 3...

Get something that does 75x4 at 4 ohm and you should be covered with most ideas or configurations.

how would you wire the tweeters in there though?

Also, if all of them are coax, then does he even really NEEd tweeters? Also note that this will be the first time he hears any type of highs on an amp...so i think he will be very impressed when he puts an amp on them...

coax speakers are a midrange and a tweeter, so no, he doesn't need an external set of tweeters.

thank you very much :) i will relay the info to him...so now all i have to ask is...If i were to run a 2 ch amp at 2 ohms for the coax, is it noticeably different than running them at 4 ohms on a 4ch?

Thanks for the replys btw...

You won't beable to fade the sound between the sets. Like front and back fading.

Thats amp dependant and you might want to go with less power than I told you.
