fuk it this is how:

Make sure that the outlet you are going to use is the ONLY

outlet on that breaker. A direct feed from the panel to the

outlet and nothing "downstream" from that outlet.

Shut off the breaker in question and remove the black wire

from the breaker. Find the corresponding neutral wire

(white) for that circuit and remove it from the neutral bar.

Remove the 110V 20 amp breaker in the panel and replace

it with a 220V 20 amp breaker of the same brand and

make.

Connect the black and the white wire of the circuit to the 2

screws of the new 220V breaker.(It doesn't matter which

wire goes where as long as they are both on the breaker).

Leave the ground wire(bare or green) of that circuit where it

is.

2) Remove the 110 v outlet in question and replace it with a

220V 20 amp outlet. Black wire on 1 side, white wire on the

other side and the ground to the green screw.

This should give you a 220V 20 amp circuit ready for whatever your hooking it up for.

now its fairly simple but if you dont feel confident enough, hire someone its about a 2hr job at probably 70/hr out there.....

I need to ask a off topic question, sorr DRdb :D

what would cause my garage light switch (that turns on all my shop lights) to suddenly flip upside down? It has Always always always been up for on, down for off (like normal) but one day, for no reason, and no one else in my house brave or smart enough to play the joke, my light switch is now UP for off and Down for on. WTF????

You sure there isn't another switch that turns these lights on and off? I hate when there are 2 switches and by using the other one it switches the on/off position of the main one.

man the only thing that comes to mind is someone is messing with you or there is another switch but im pretty certain youd know if there was. If a switch goes bad they just go.... Ive never heard of them switching like that.....
