Random Computer Freezes

Ohhhh, You run the memory test outside of windows, drop it on a bootable cd, usb key, floppy(hope not) And run it before windows has started.

Well I used to have memtest that worked in windows... anyways. I am going to be outta town for about a week, but when I get back I will try it. Thanks for the update man I appreciate the help you are giving me.

Its weird that your desktop has battery settings on it. Ive never seen that before, or is it a laptop?

Did you see if there is a driver for the cpu at amd's site?

My desktop has battery settings aswell.

not sure why, but it does.

Ive used xp home, xp pro, and xp pro student additions as well as vista and never seen it..

I just thought it was odd. lol

I even went into my power options and tried to set up my desk top as if it was a laptop, but still didnt get the battery meter :(

I have it cause my computer is on a battery backup so when the power goes out I can still work on my computer 8)

I am praying and knocking on wood right now, but I believe lowering that multiplier was the problem... I Have had it on for 11 hours and it hasnt froze.... I have no idea how that got raised, cause it was the only thing raised in BIOS
