Boon
Thought I may as well put my little build up for you guys to see... Gear: DD 9515 Schneider SPA-7000X Big ass battery Lots of wire Alpine 7949E head unit The amp: Schneider SPA-7000X Does about 4000w @ 0.5 ohms @ 13.8v or something. Not exactly sure but it's around there. I have 2 of these but one is blown up so it's just the one for now My very old Yellowtop and dodgy wiring The hole in the firewall... a bit packed Over here we aren't allowed to cut the firewall so I had to make do. It now has some rubber around the outside to stop the cables getting worn. Thats 8 runs of 0ga and a bit of 8ga for the headunit/processor. All the cable at the back of the car Both the amps together, note one is really really burnt My old port, made from a vase we 'borrowed' from a supermarket. Ipod Nano for size comparison Port and old box. this setup did 145ish with minimal testing but I couldn't get it to gain no matter what I did. I changed the port to a 6" aeroport and did a 146.1 burp @ 59hz and 145.1 to music (Young Jeezy - I Luv It) - All legal, blah blah. Power! This is my big battery + Wire + Some small batts for a later build. Little aluminium bracket to move the coolant bottle over a bit Big battery in place! Big 3 done with 0ga ground but just 4ga power, stock alt isn't up to much Big battery with all the big wires hooked up as well, home-made fuse holder for 4x250A ANL fuses - replaced by metal bars for competition New box. Inspired by the ones Meade made for sactownstang's CRX... but a little bit tweaked. Made from 36mm tri-board and it'll get some resin and rounded corners etc. Another view of the box So yeah. That's where I'm up to. Hoping this new box will get me closer to 150dB on a burp. Waiting on another 6" Aeroport, I'll update when that's in and it's metered Quote 10.x volts fo' life! Stephen
made me cringe u need some kind of grommet to go around that wire. I hope the jacket does not get cut from the movement Quote you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. Boon
Nice mate. Those Aeroports are great. I noticed you're running Schnieder amps, where are you from? New Zealand. Those Schneider's are the 2 that were floating around MEA Got one real cheap cos it 'needed $200 spent on it', fucked around for ages getting it over here and turned out it's fcking totalled. Oh well, swings and roundabouts I guess. Stephen C, I have since lined the hole in the firewall with some rubber U-channel - you can spot it in some of the later images Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
