the screw would rip straight out of the wood and the speaker would launch before they just snapped.

i've snapped screws with 12" xxx' as well...but it doesn't mean that xxx is so fierce that it terrorizes something denser than MDF. it just means i got too froggy with the makita.

try it out. mount a sub, inverted even, leave the screw just a little bit loose and wang the hell out of it.

david don't waste your time bro, its like arguing with a brick wall :unknw:

lol jp

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

So i have had my system hooked up for about a month now and i went out there and moved my box a lil bit and my sub falls out of the box. Then i looked at it and 7 of the 8 screws have BROKE IN HALF. so i went and brought some heavy duty screws and put it back in and it make a BIG difference. the lows are ALOT louder now the i aint got a big air leak. Just thought i might share

How do like the Aq 2200? I'm getting one in a month and a half if their not sold out

TDH FTW !!!

Broken screws has nothing to do with how loud the sub is. It means you used crappy screws at wal-mart in a box of 200 screws. Get some good # screws with fine thread and see if it breaks.

agreed

stronger screws FTW!!!

sure it does, if the screws break that means the sub can move, which lets the air out of the box around the woofer instead of the port inwich = not as loud as it should be!

Drywall screws arent meant to take that kind of punishment

agian I say T-Nutz FTW
