I've seen very few that aren't shit mechanically, but I still wouldn't trade one in for an import. Good cars and all, but I just don't like them...not my taste.

Told you they should've done that. Whatever the other dealer was that you talked to about working on the Caddy that told you no, was stupid. Congrats on gettin it up and runnin though.

Noooo...the "cat" helps to control emissions. I personally think they suck, and hurt performance, but there are some for high HP applications that help. But anyways, they're different. If your car doesn't have one, don't add one. If it does, oh well. Suck it up, there are alot of aftermarket cats that will help increase performance, but I don't think they're worth the money. Especially for a daily driver.

oh... you think it would be a wise choice to remove my stock "cat" and get a performance muffler ?

Depends on emissions laws in your state. I'm not sure, but I think any vehicle over 25 years doesn't require emissions. Either that or it's...If it didn't have it from the factory, you don't need it now. But if it did come from the factory with emissions controls, you gotta keep them. Check with the state about emissions controls or testing before you remove it.
