I am running an audison vrx1.500 and I am very happy with the sound quality of my 2 15" kove armageddons. The amp is a single channel 2000watt class a/b amp at 1ohm. Very accurate!!!! A a/b class bass amp? No way it is putting out full power it says. It can't be efficient at all.

Guest aseanj52
why dont you search a little before you say what it cant do? Ok, sorry i didn't do research. I was on my cell posting. So explain to me how it is efficient. I doubt most people want a amp with a 50% efficiency rating IMO. I could be wrong though, i have always heard D class is better at making power then a/b. And also the a/b doesn't create current as well as D class does either.

Guest aseanj52
I didn't say it was 50%. But if i'm right don't a/b amps have a much worse efficiency? Which is why even highs amps are going D class?
Guest aseanj52
The biggest disadvantage of Class A is that it is inefficient, ie: it takes a very large Class A amplifier to deliver 50 watts, and that amplifier uses lots of electricity and gets very hot. Quote from Statson Class AB amps, however, tend to be bulkier than a Class D amp of the same power (due to their lower efficiency) Edited July 21, 2008 by aseanj52
