NoFearX18 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 I thought I had myself set and was going to go for a Sundown SAZ3000d but I don't know if I can get one plus I can't find any refurbed ones anymore. My limit to spend would be $700 but I am willing to go much less if I can...(dought it) I want 4000 rms... or atleast 3500... I want to have 2 18" BTL's by the time I am done... I have been looking around and I see some i like. Autotek MM 4000.1D Crunch GP3000D-Pro Lanzar OPTI6000D SoundStream XXX-6500D (Can't find a price on it but I'm throwing it out there...) Sundown SAZ3000D Im really leaning toward the Crunch amp because It is relativly cheap but Im weary on if it truly puts out close to 3000 watts? The Autotek looks pretty good because i could just stick with it and give my BTL's their 2000 RMS @ 1 ohm... cheaper than having to go with 2 amps... any info would be great... thanks My Videos AQ + AA/Fi FTMFW!!!!!

You need a new starter battery, a new High output alternator and probably 2 bigger batteries as secondary batteries. Then you will need to upgrade your engine wiring in 1/0 wiring. You wont be able to run both BTLs off of 3500 rms. You will barely be moving them. You will want to throw around 3krms clean watts at them a piece. David Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 just so you know the Crunch 3000D Pro, makes rated power+ mike Stiers did some testing and on them and had the results posted on termpro.com forums. Noodles, you dont make sense bro. BTL's are woofers. they dont care if the electricl is stockor not. the amplifies will certinly care if the electrical is up to par or not. you can run the woofers off of one of those amps no problem, you dont have to give them more than rated RMS to make them BOOOM. design the box correctly and any one of those amps will make the woofers BOOOOOOM. Can you give them more power SURE, but its not neccesary IMO

Moti Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Well at ***'s store the SAZ-3000D is about 880 dollars with their special running. Sundown makes solid amps, since you're trying to get a beast on a budget, look at some refurbished ones (1500's).

Im really biased on these amps. Pros: guarenteed rms wattage. 10-16+ volt stable. 1 ohm stable daily. .5 ohm stable on 12 volt batteries making close to 5k watts. reviews of them being cleaner sounding then better companies. cons: (imo) Twigs got one, and the shipping weight on it was 11 or 13 pounds I think he said. I know for a fact that one of my rf t1k are at least 10 pounds each, so I think 13 pounds (shipping weight, not actually amp weight which is lighter yet). Not to mention if I toss one of my spl dynamics (3000 w rms) on a scale they are close to 30 pounds each. With this Im thinking that the amp will get kinda hot and cook eggs on the heatsink like no other. With a poor heatsink design the amps stability and reliability is signifigantly reduced. Im also just assuming this since sundown (another proven company that makes rated plus power went and redesigned heatsinks and are now bigger and offer more cooling fins. Another thing I find a con is the cost! where is the MSRP is around $900 (which is what you would expect to actually pay for a decent 2000rms amp), but you can get these amps for around $450 Shipped!!! That is cheap!! espically for a amp that will do rated power and exceed manufacters specs. These are said to have high quality parts inside, but those parts cost money. I know that it will cost me almost the same amount to have all new power and output mosfets in my amp. but onto my price theory, and yes its a theory. But we all know that it costs money to get a lot of good clean power, more money then what many want to spend. goto someplace like sonicelectronix.com and search their monoblock amps. and just looking at the price to power ratio is nuts on some of them. heres a few examples, some amps are not even 3000wrms on this list, or rated at same ohm loads. 2008 kicker zx 2500.1 --- 2500rms by 1 @ 2 ohm --- $1500. Orion hcca d5000 --- 2500rms by 1 @ 1 ohm --- $1300. These amps are also made in china build houses so much cheaper parts (ive had expierence using 2 hcca-d2400s, and was not impressed) 2008 kicker zx 1500.1 --- 1500rms by 1 @ 2 ohm $1000' Rockford Fosgate Power T20001bd --- 2000wrms by 1 @ 1 ohm $800 older kicker zx 2500.1 2500rms by 1 @ 2 ohm --- $730 Orion HCCA-D2400 - 1200rms by 1 @ 1 ohm --- $600 These amps are also made in china build houses so much cheaper parts (ive had expierence using 2 hcca-d2400s, and was not impressed) Rockford Fosgate T10001bd --- 1000rms by 1 @ 1 ohm $460. Ok guys, here it is. Depending on your battery set up this amp will make an ungodly amount of power. With a 12volt battery set up dropping to 11.5 volts the Crunch GP3000D Pro made 2850 watts at a 1.03 ohm reactive. That's 4 12volt batteries. If you can get the voltage up the amp will make much more. By just starting the car and using the high amp alternator (starting at 16.1 volts and dropping to 12.3volts), the 3000 made 3732 watts. That's crazy isn't it. THAT'S NOTHING! I hooked it up to a 16volt battery set up and it just went crazy! With the battery voltage dropping to 15.7 volts with a 1.4 ohm reactive this monster made 4640 usable watts. NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT!

No offense to twigz but look at who you are getting the info from about how much they wiegh, I certinly wouldnt take his word for nothing when it comes to car audio. it seems they priced the amps so they could beat everyone else on watt per $$ and they are doing just that, most places cant keep the amps in stock. I have seriously thougt about running them myself, but I just cant do it, but only because my loyalty is with RF. IMO you cant beat it unless your getting shit for free
