Subs Up Or Back?

Recommended Posts

If you have enough room for subs and port(s) forward, go for it.

I can say that with my Kicker's (I have a 97 Toyota Camry) if I leave the seats down and face them towards the rear of the vehicle it seems to sound louder. The box is ported if that has anything to do with it.

I was wondering about the sub placement as well. With my car, the sub works well when I face it to the side and/or towards the back of the trunk. My back seats don't come down, but there's an armrest that comes down in the middle, and I can open it.

What materials would you use to seal it off from the trunk? I know it's possible, just don't know what materials to use.

Sometimes in trunk car subs foward and ports to the side works out very well. Other than that I've always done subs and woofers back and in a couple instances I've done woofers and port foward sealed off from the rear. The one that worked out best for me was everything back.
