Sq Going To Crap.

Recommended Posts

So My trucks System (Pioneer HU, Power Acoustik mids) has started to sound like crap lately. It wasnt that great in the first place, but loads better than it is now. Now it seems when I have it up at louder levels, the bass completely overtakes the singing/rapping. Big problem. I like my bass but not when the rest sounds like shit. If one of you fine brothers could help me I'd greatly appreciate it.

My Head unit Settings =

HP Filter: Off (Off/50/63/80/125)

Bass booster: +5 (+6-0)

Fie: Off (Off/100)

SLA: +4-(-4))

Fader: 0 (balanced)

EQ Low: +3, EQ mid: +6, EQ High: +4

Loudness: Low

Subwoofer: Off (dont have one)

EQ Curve: Natural

Thanks :friends:

Do you mean your mids distort? or the overtake your highs? B/c I have never heard a 6.5" mid that could overpower a tweet. If it is that at high volumes your bass distorts on the low note enable you HP filter at 63 or 80hz.

and your bass bosters should be at 0 or maybe +1

both the mids and highs go to shit, but only when the bass hits. The bass doesnt distort at all. Problem is, if I turn the bassbooster to +1 and turn my HP to 63/80 hz all my bass goes away!! :'(

And right now I dont have the money for a sub or amp :(

seperate mid and tweet with a xover? or one unit all wrapped into one.

My thought process is that

A: if your using componants your head unit isnt built to drive them really

B: you could just need a better set of speakers.

C: its hard as hell to diagnose sound over the net... :sorry:

Some people need a sympathetic pat... on the head...with my hammer

A: yes

B: a decent coax set will alot of time sound better than lower line componants

C: yeah... :aggressive:
