LT.Smoke Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Hey, I want to know if I was to upgrade to a sundown Nightshade 12 and a sundown 3k amplifier if it would hit harder than my current mtx 9500 15 and phoenix gold octane 15.0:1 amplifier setup that is in my car. Im really considering doing all sundown so any input i can get from everyone would be greatly appreciated and help me decide on whether to do it or not. banginAltima Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 if you have the room, I would stick with a 15 or two 12's. Edit: If you upgrade to a Sundown 3000, you are going to need a bigger battery. If you build it, db's will come... 01xtreme Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 You would be doubling your power, but also losing some cone area, so I think all things held constant you would hear a decent increase in volume. However, like banginaltima said if you can stick to a 15" sub I think it would be better. LT.Smoke Posted August 22, 2008 Author Report Posted August 22, 2008 Im wanting to go to a single 12" Nightshade because i plan on doing a T-line enclosure for it. Thats the only reason im goin to a 12 for simple space available. I hear the T-lines are incredibly loud and super efficient enclosures so thats why im droppin the woofer size.
