LSN2meBoom916
lookin good so far. Make sure to glass over that seam at the edge of ur "tub cutout" so it's airtight and strong where 2 pieces (top and bottom enclosures) meet. Glue and screw are your friends..and filler or silicone to seal any left over gaps. Sealed box Gotta be airtight or it will sound like ass. UR doin great, keep it up. dunkoholic
Thanks, i'll make sure to do that... Also, will it be better if I have the opening like this? Which means i will have air trying to push up and other air trying to go down right? or make a cover/port which will make the air flow right through the other port which shoots up to the back and up to the rear deck... LSN2meBoom916
You are gonna wanna keep that openeing as OPEN as possible and making a "port" there to "shoot the air forward" would essentially creat something similar to an A-B-C ported box and unless u have design knowledge regarding that specific type of box I would not do it blindly. Leave it as open as you can, so just use your 1st pic...the air trying to go up/down...may result in some less than 100% optimum airflow patterns towars the ports, but the only way to achieve that would be impossible with the 2 pairs of subs where you have them so just get what you can and leave that spot as open as poss...I would actually suggest running it sealed instead...but thats just me...I have run 4 cvr 12's sealed in a lil over 5cft net since 2002 and they have been good to me..but that's in a hatch, not trunk...so you build it untill ur happy. good luck. But hopefully the new type r's will sound better.. will see, i'll just keep experementing with them..
