missinglink
Run dual alts as well and no difference either. If it does take some away add a air intake system to balance it back out. Eskii
The only way you get your electrical energy is converting the work energy from the engine. Yeh, it reduces HP, but not by much. In my patrol it can move from 1300RPM to 1100RPM when i'm bumping pretty hard. But if ya have enough batts, or caps... No a problem at all! missinglink
13 batts hurt the HP due to weight more than the dual alts. Quote missinglinkaudio The United States Marine Corps. mrrairai
you notice it most when your playing the music loud and putting a load on the alts.....other then that, when your cruising at normal low volumes, they are nothing but pullys.......basicly. It is a little noticeable but not too bad. X2. I notice it with my 1 260A only when I'm pounding and taking off. MECHMAN
Our alternator dyno can convert killowatt consumption from the tester motor to HP, and one of out 250 amp units avarages 7HP to turn at full tilt. I definitely do notice a loss of power on my Silverado with 3 alts, but I can still pull my car trailer with the system cranked. 6.0L FTW.
