Re Mt 18" Or Fi Btl 18"

Well personally i have heard the 18" BTL and it hits every note really well so i dont want to imagine what two would be like but the BTL also sounds really good on all types of music even if they dont HIT Hard per say they will sound good no matter what your listening to

since it's been overlooked pretty well in this thread, there is a still fairly new MT with cooling .. so I don't see why the gap heat issue was brought up at all or the daily one either apart from people are going to say no one has the new ones yet, i've seen at least 3 in the classified for sale on caraudio.com.

If anything the re mx is more sql oriented. To have to list where it would stand against a comparsion for your 15" sx i'd say the mx was more a new " old " xxx and the new xxx was in a league it's own.. both blowing the sx out of the water in output for daily use, though the sx could possibly hit louder numbers.. but by then on the power differences, I don't see a fair winner.

The re mt just isnt pratical for a daily driver due to its tight gap. Its really a burp woofer, yea it can play music but its just not reccomended. If you really wanted to go the re route, get a xXx

Have you placed the BTL in the same set up to compare? Bottom line is Scott designed them both and BEFORE the "cooling" in the "MT" the BTL was on the market with cooling. All subs need slugs and poles to work it really just comes down to gaps and slug strength. Unless someone wants to pay tooling fees (JL , XXX ect...)to build their own design then slugs , poles and gaps are what makes a sub. At least this is what I learned from the "MASTER GURU" Scotty son during my 1 1/2 FI audio apprenticeship LOL

finally, after researching and reading your opinions about what sub will do best for me..

im finally pick the fi btl 18 fully loaded

now my problem is it safe to run .5ohm daily or stick to 1 ohm ??

2 dual 2 = .5/ 2 ohms

2 dual 1 = 1/4 ohms

i'll use 1 soundstream xxx 10000d for these two subs..
