dwright27
Me personally...I totally like the aprilia's and almost got an RSV Factory. The only reason why I didn't get it was cause I would have had to buy the bike out of state since there are no dealers here that can service them.I've got a good bud at work that has a tuono and he absolutely loves it. yea, i sat on one today, and it was a little to big for me, and they would have to special order the lowering links from germany which is bad for me cause i wouldnt be able to drive it out of there. but if i got the gsx-r or the yamaha or a cbr then they could throw it down for me right there, but the good thing with the aprilia is i have a 5 year unlimited mile warranty. heres pics of the gsx-r. R1 beside it, least comfortable bike i sat on. Edited September 6, 2008 by dwright27 Quote 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. str86diesel
Whatever you do...DO NOT lower the bike. That changes the entire geometry of the bike and causes bad things to happen, since it in return changes how the bike handles. Find a bike that fits you without modifications. Have you looked at the R6s? As far as the R1 goes..its not that they are uncomfortable, ridng my r1 was like riding a cadilac compared to my duc..it's just that you have to fit the riding position. I'll have another R1 next season. And as Trainman has said...Do take the MSF!!!! Herrie_V
I bought a R6 as starter bike, got my licence and 2 hours later i was riding my bike:) The bike is easy to drive for beginners, but goes hard for the real work too. I drove my friends gixxer 600 and was happy to step back on mine... R6 ftw!

Andrew2944r
I have had a FZR-1000 and 3 Hayabusa's since 1999, my only words of advice for someone at your age, stay off the throttle and get a f-ing Helmet. But get what bike feels most comfortable to your liking. Quote Team Ampere Audio

mrrairai
Personally I think the Gixxer is more comfortable to ride than the R6 and CBR 600. I've ridden all of them. I must admit the R6 was faster tho and handled better. I'm not a speed demon tho. I actually dropped my bike doing 45 and I spent a week in the hospital!!!!!!!!!!!! That was back in 06. I just started running again about 2 months ago. Be careful on those things because you have no protection whatsoever. I'm waiting til next season to ride again. Not sure what I'm getting tho. Like everyone else said please take the MSF. Its worth it. Str8diesel is right tho...when it comes to downshifting and control the Gixxer isn't all that good. I agree the SV650 is a nice starter bike. My old Chief road one for years and he wrecked the old one and the next month he went out and bought a new one. trainman0978
You lower that bike and it will be twice as hard to learn to ride it properly. learn to stand on one leg at a light, become very familiar with your machine i stock form before you go fuckin with it. If you can't reach the ground then the bike doesn't fit you. plain and simple. And although I have never been in to that shop, remember, the people workin in there will tell you what you want to hear to sell you a bike. They are there to sell bikes and parts, and probably not there to teach you how to ride, or how to find a bike that fits you properly. But you have your mind made up and you will probably not listen to anybodies advice, except the sales guy who is just doin his job : getting you to buy what he is selling...
