If you try and use nitrous in high gear, it will almost certainly break pistons. Under high load/low excelleration situations (like a long pull in high gear) the nitrous mixture in the cylinder will begin to pre-detonate, which is what casues engine damage while using nitrous. Nitrous is much less damaging when used in lower gears to when the rate of excelleration is higher, such as in a drag race scenario. Every time I have lost a headgasket or a piston on nitrous, it has been in 3rd gear or higher. Once or twice I have missed having a back seat / rear hatch, but all in all people love to see a walled vehcile.
