sundownz
* This is the box, otherwise known as our "ghetto test box" - we use it in the shop just to drop woofers in and power test them. Not made for SPL *at all* * Our crazy wire mess trying to get four 1500Ds in here playing as quickly as possible * I bet you guys want to know what those little amps are, don't you ? Not telling! I'm sure glad ugly = loud in SPL. Test results so far: 2x 1500Ds = 144.1 dB 4x 1500Ds = 147.0 dB So... appears to be no power compression on this sub yet. We are running out of x-max as the box is tuned quite low and our peak is @ 52 Hz - the port area is also WAY too small for this beast sub. We are going to build a decent box this weekend and I am fully expecting to break 150 dB. This is with the "daily" 8-layer round coil... once (if?) we tear it up with too much power we are going to re-build it with the 12-layer flat SPL coil to see what gains we realize with it. sundownz
Oh yah... the alternator is the stock Jeep alternator. This thing has to be like 30-amps... when I added the Powermaster batteries it can't get over 14v anymore. We do have a stock replacement battery under the hood as well with a single run of 1/0 from front to back. You see everything else in there in the pics... no sound dampening yet, no mods... just folded down seat to mount the amps to. Forevrbumpn
tiny prototypes are nice Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
Nightshade
What are those tiny amps? Nice scores btw! I don't think that they're tiny amps. I don't see any power and ground going into them. If I had to guess I'd say that they were crossover's.
