Well I need some help deciding on an amp.

Right now I'm looking at Rockford fosgates T20001bd

OR a sundown 3000D

I can get a t20001bd for 489 shipped, or a sundown 3000D refurbished for 675 shipped.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

I have a powerbass 3000D. And I can tell you for a fact that one of those could make you happy.

If you look around, you just might be able to find one for around $400-600.

Yes, it delivers rated watts and more...yes it can take 16V and yes you can run it @ .5ohms all day long

Bringin it back from the grave!

The panels are pretty much done, just some more sanding and spot filling to do. I'll have pics of them up later on tonight.

Ok started my final box for the DD 9918

Back box built up, port mounted, and matt layed out.

Just to clear up a few things that I know will get asked, the bottom left corner of the box...thats not air bubbles its white silicon sealer down there...there was a little gap, and yes I let it cure before I resined the corners.

The 18 will sit to the left of the port, the box will be double baffled on that spot and will be secured in with 1/4-20 2" hex bolts and T-nuts.

got the double baffle put together, top on, port glassed up and t-nuts in for the sub's mounting bolts.

So there was a little bit of a gap between the port, and the top baffle's hole for the port to slide through. So I decided to just go ahead and glass the area around the port hole to seal it up nice and good. I will sand and body fill it later for the finish.

Tomorrow I'm gonna finish glassing up the inside of the box and put in two more dowl rods for support around the sub, and glass all the down rods ends.

STILL LEFT TOO DO.

1.Cut the front for the back box and mount it in then it will be done.

2.Cut the holes in the front of the back box for airspace to be shared.

3.Cut the hole in the front box for airspace to be shared.

4.Get a good seal between the two boxes once they are put in the car.

5.Suede it up!!

6. Get to bumpin' =]]

Lol thanks...I didn't think 4 gauge was enough..so off to the shop in town that carries everything stinger.

I like the design a lot...and luckily enough my idea to keep the two boxes sealed where they go together worked very nicely.

The first box it was in, which was the exact same design just a little smaller width wise...had air leaks between the two boxes like CRAZY.

So me and my partner went to home depot and found this non-drying quick caulk shit, that comes in a roll. So we spray glued it to the back box and stuck it on and put the two boxes together in the car. My friend has a torque drill so it brought the boxes nice and tight together and it ended up not having one air leak that I could find, and along with where the port is placed it fires directly into the cabin under the rear deck.

Overall the box is between 6 and 7^3ft after port displacement....I know it might not look it..but I crunched numbers for 3 hours to make this thing big enough..

All in all, I am extremely pleased with the sound, BUT it still needs more power...damn thing is barely moving on 3200 watts. If I'm not completely satisfied with the numbers it puts out, I'm going to order a hifonics Goliath, and get another alternator.
