Cant see the Inside's Nothing...idk I want a Nice shiny Alt that i can see a Gang load of copper inside.... I mean my Alts work 100% just not very apealing to the eye...

i suggest an external regulator for anything 200 amp and up cause there known to go out.

My truck has a a/c bracket but no a/c was equipped. I can get a 140amp kit for my stock alternator, if I used a separate oem modded alt, in place of where the a/c would have went, and have it dedicated to the stereo, would that be okay, or should I do a 200+amp for the whole truck, and replace the single alt?

Anybody running a Missing Link w/ a Mechman alt?

i would go with 2 200 amp. they put out 160 at idle so that makes 320 amp . mla ftmfw

Man just buy one. We all have our favorites so you're gonna get mixed reviews. Hell I drive a Ford and some people with Chevys give me shit and vice versa. Just go with the company that gives you the warm and fuzzy.

if your alt is getting THAT toasty, that tells me your batteries need charging. This is the #1 cause of premature alternator failure. Even if you THINK your batteries have a full charge, unless you have put them on a GOOD charger lately, they arent. Get a charger ASAP or say bye bye to your alts.

200a and up are known to go out? says who? Ive never heard that......ive been running 300+ amp INTERNALLY regulated alts for years now.

talkin to people at shows, they tell you alot if your willing to listen. plus mine went out. just started spiking then 11.3 output.

i guess thats what happens when you run a 8 cylinder alt on a 4 cylinder motor.

talkin to WHO at shows? i listen to people, i still never heard this. I mean HO alts will go out for whatever reason but its not because one is over 200a internally regulated. Its more user error IMO...like i said, if your runnin around bumpin your beat with a bunch of batterys and you never charge them with a charger, you are asking for trouble. Even with 4 alts, 3 of them 380's, i still charge my truck at least once a week just to keep the batteries fresh.
