kingsuv
I will never use MDF for my builds again. Just make sure it's birch Ply and not ply with a Birch veneer. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
Forevrbumpn
$40 is an average price per sheet and if I have the money, or the guy that I'am building the box for has the money, its Birch Nails go thru it with ease as well, and the porous ply material makes it bond better with glue, so usually screws not even needed It has less resonance than MDF as well, because its stronger A GREAT characteristic when SQ is in mind Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. Torres
search...there's like 100000001 thread on this topic. birch is lighter and stronger and looks good stained...but it might've been the quality of the wood i used but i dont like the splintering. overall i like working with MDF better
B Slaps
i use mdf only. 1" or more. birch is just lighter in weight, less dense which makes it sound more hollow. however if you resin the material i dont think it matters which material you use.
