Noobtastic14
So i'm in a tight place. i just picked up a Lvl 4 18" from rusty and absolutely love the woofer- BUT its falling on its face when it gets to the lows!! the MX felt like it could dive forever, so i'm wondering what it could be causing such a change in tone when only the woofer changed. The only difference i can think of with my noobish mind is the Fs on the DC is 28.x hz and the Fs on the RE is 18.xhz but i thought the enclosure played more of a roll than the woofer. Amps SS is all the way down, power is a bxi1606 @1ohm box is 7cuft @33hz with two 6" round ports ~16" long that is all from memory so i might be off by an inch or so on the port length or a decimal somewhere. what should i check before dropping the MX back in? -Drew Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. loganberry
somethin dosnt sound right cause my 15's plays the lows all day long and sound great doing so....the lows arnt super loud, but they play them hard (by lows im reffering to lowest portion of put on) Quote My F-150 Build GET ON THE BANDWAGON what if they tried messing with the amps when the subs werent louder hahah jk
Noobtastic14
i played that on my way to school this morning and it sounded good- so i mean lower than that. it just reaches a point where the initial hit of the downbeat is hard, but when the cone is holding the note it just isnt loud, almost like cancellation from some unknown 2nd woofer! -Drew Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. Noobtastic14
i hope it is that simple, because i've got it worked to keep the DC within my close circle of friends and still get enough cash for the recone on the MX. either way i'm keeping the DC in for the comp on the 18th in woodland so i can see what its putting up. Looks like next season it will be the MX in action and i'll have plenty of meter time. -Drew Oh, and i'm getting on the Oscope hopefully by end of this week so no more clipping in my future. E a r t h
who cares if you can't play below 27 hz. hardly any songs go below that. Depends on the genre of music being played. I have lots of material extending well bellow that
aznboi3644
playing below tuning with out a subsonic does not necessarily mean a blown woofer. shit i run a single 15 in 4.3 cubes tuned to 40hz with 112.5 sq in of port with no subsonic...zero problems whatsoever even after a few years...800 watt rms amp also.
