ptcary Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 I have had my laptop with wireless internet for almost a year now with no problems. Recently it has been intermittently disconnecting from the internet every so many hours. I replaced my wireless router and the modem is fine. When it happens, it says that Windows can not find any wireless networks, but the router is ok, modem is ok, and it works fine if I plug it in directly to the modem. I have read online about Windows having to check security every few hours with an internet connection and am wondering if that has anything to do with it. Its got to be a Windows problem. New router is a D Link, just the basic one, and the old one was linksys. The network card is built into the laptop. Marvel Topdog or something like that. Herrie_V Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Try to switch from channel on you wireless device and your built-in reciever. Maybe yor neighbours got a new wireless modem or something. If its sets to automatic, try channel 6 for example. I had this problem a few weeks back at a friends house... Good luck. Quote

AI James Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 what i said will work especially for viaos. dont auto update with a viao, the original drivers are pretty much the only real stable drivers for the wireless cards. they should call vaio support and demand to talk to someone in california ( the manila office doesnt know thier heads from thier ass) Quote
