99vic
i dont understand how to sue the re box calc can anyone help me out?put the measurements you have to use and how long or short you want your port at the bottom it shows you what its tuned to and it gives you the measurements to cut Quote REST IN PARADISE BIG RICH (Sqmonte) never forgotten Why do you guys ALWAYS dispute on NUMBERS????? It's such a played out argument, so fucking annoying.... It's 12 fuckin 15's.... It's louder than you... Shut the fuck up... /Rant I'm so jealous, it makes me want to club baby seals. Guest
but... ok so i put my max dimentions in.. and would if i dont know about the port well for the port, keep entering random dimensions until you get to whatever Hz you feel you like (32hz for me, thats just my taste). and when it says Port Area or something similar, and divide it from the Cuft you came up with for the box. if the number comes between 12 and 16, your good to go on port area. if its under 12 or above 16, you will most likely have port noise at certain frequencies. correct? stuart_goodenough
so do i just put on my max dimentions and mess around untill i get the right port frequency
wL<3bass
so do i just put on my max dimentions and mess around untill i get the right port frequency No you find out how many cu.ft. (ft^3) of airspace your sub requires....if you're giving it rms power or less, go with the maximum ft^3 that is recommended and if your overpowering it then make it a little smaller to control over excursion, once you figure out how many ft^3 your sub need play around with your max dimensions to get the sub is required airspace (remember those airspace recommendations are INTERNAL, so you will have to accommodate the wood and any bracing) then you play with the port width, height, and length (remember to narrow a port and you may have excess port velocity resulting in unwanted port noise). Goodluck and screenshot your final product and post it up in this thread and have someone review it....be sure to provide type of sub(aswell as voicecoils, or the ohm load your going to wire it in) and amplifier. If anyone has any other tip or sees anything incorrect feel free to add it on, hope this helps. AI James
its really not hard. its all simple mathematics. just be aware that the calvulator isnt an end all be all. and the design you see there isnt the best application for your SUV.
