Think it will be alright?
stratusrt01
ouch, I would like to see at least 95 inches of port in there. I've had boxes that didn't have enough port area, and always got tons of noise.
frkkevin
Yea i know .. but there is no chance I can get it.. the subs themselves will take up 31 inchs of the box leaving 8 inches of workable room.. subtract 1-2 off each side to allow for clearance.. and im down to 4-6inch wide port. if i can squeeze in that 6 inch width i'd be on the money.. how bad do you think the port noise would be? its not a horribly small port
AI James
pretty bad probably seeing as the ports only a lil over half what would normally be used
stratusrt01
For the size of the enclosure it's a horribly small port. I would try to find somewhere else to put the port, or go with something more manageably sized. A proper box for smaller subs sounds better than an improper box for larger subs. frkkevin
I'm just gonna make a 6" port .. some how.. some way.. I will get it. Given that I'd have 84 square inches of port. Now plotting the design in BBP6 I'm see a gain of 2.81dB / 51.70 Hz. Does that seem right? I'm looking for a 152dB but I'd be very happy with 150dB. Can someone run through this and tell me what they think? I'll be running two RE SX 15"s and two RE 35.1s.. so depending on how underated the amps are we are looking at 3000rms-3600rms, they are rated 1500rms @ 1 ohm 12.6v volts but I've been told they do 3600rms on 14.4v.. so it depends on my voltage drop which will probably be bad lol.
