Over Powering Vs. Under Powering

this i think is going to be my deciding factor

i'm using a zx1500 pushing roughly 1700 watts

would you rather run two 1000 watt rms subs, 2000 watt combined rms

or

would you rather do two 600 watt rms subs, for about 1200 watts combined

over powering vs. under powering

either way they'll be two 15's in approximatly 6-7ft^3 at 34-36hz

i've used the search, couldn't find anything, i fail, i know

also any pros and cons would be helpful

Quality brands can most likely take the 250Watts each due to impedence rise with temprature and line loss in the wires etc...

But if the subs are Mega Boom Boom super Dooper "600WATT!!!" subs from ebay etc, then no, under power them.

SO vote is overpowering, within reason

awesome, ya they're definently repitable subs, i'ma keep that disclosed for a later poll

simply because i feel that the votes could sway the opposite way when i post the subs, so ima trying to get opinions just off power

x2. I think people didn't understand what he was asking that's my guess. But I agree. In addition he is only underpowering by 150RMS per sub.

underpowering is always better if you dont know what your doing 100% fully, or if you have shit-built subs.

7/3 is what it's looking like, it's a quick poll but i'm going to post the choices in a new thread in probably 5 minutes and we'll see what it does

i'm fairly set on my set up now, i'm happy with what i'm pushing and have $0 to uprade ha, but im gettin a job and maybe in 6 months i'll upgrade

i'm working on getting rid of my L7 for... way to much to buy the two 15's with ha

id never buy a setup from a poll on a forum full of people who give the wrong information.

so hopefully you dont purchase by what the poll tells you, as when i voted it was my 1 vote to 4 vote for overpowering
