Which Sub/s Will Have More Spl?

1 DDesign M3 2400rms 1ohm

1 dual ported 6cu'ft box or what ever size can fit in the car

OR

1 18" DDesign 9518g DVC 4ohm wired down to 2 ohm

1 rockford Fosgate T2000bd 2000rms 1ohm or 1500rms 2ohm

1 6cu'ft ported box tuned to 33HZ

Plus 1 deep cycle battery and a H/O 200amp alternator

Will any of these setups hit 145db

To start off your car would be your worst enemy in SPL terms. You'll simply have a shocking time trying to get up to 145 with a Camry sedan. If you want to get loud(er) you could try getting a hatchback or even a station wagon.

The 12" 3500 series is the model 3512. An M3 on a pair of 3512 is a perfect daily amp/sub combo and will do 145 in the right setup.

The single 9518 has the potential to be louder (better motor and more cone area) but the T20001bd is no where enough power for a 9500 series. You can get 3500 series 18" or even 15", 3518 and 3515 respectively which would be a lot more suited to 2000-3000 watts. The extra money spent on a 9500 series could be wasted.

But you need a lot of room to fit a good enclosure for these kinds of setups and I would recommend a second deep cycle battery in the rear as well if you want to use this thing daily.

Just for a rough idea I had a single 15" (9915) in my Valiant station wagon and it would do 147dB @ 40Hz off a single DD Z1a monoblock for a rough idea on what SPL these things to.

I don't want to get rid of the car as i got it for free and it is the best condition i have ever seen in a camry. I wont compete in sound offs i just want a daily thumper. Why arent camry's good for SPL

Here's my old temporary setup:

T40001bd on DD 9915 = 145dB but with proper tuning could have done a lot more.

They are sedans which means they have poor airflow from the boot to the cabin. The Camry has quite a small boot as well which means you have trouble getting a large box in there. If it's a higher end model with fold down rear seat it will help airflow. You'll need to thoroughly Dynamat the whole back of the car and remove things that will stop air flowing into the cabin such as the parcel shelf etc.

How much did your setup cost ?

So i would be better off going with the 12" 3512e and a DDM 2400rms

yep the rear seats fold down. I can remove the backseat and the parcel shelf. What will Dynamat do to the back of the car?? tommorrow i can take pictures of the car if that will help. I got a good deal because I was friends with people in the industry.

The 9915 was $1200 (RRP was $2399) because it was sold as second hand but was freshly rebuilt after being in Aus's previously loudest ever vehicle

The T40001 was $2000 or so (RRP was $3500 or so back then) because my friend worked for a store.

Then there's the Optima D31 up back and D34 up front which totalled at around $700

A very cheap setup for what gear was in it.

You should be able to get two 3512 in your Camry no problems but the box will play a HUGE factor in things.

To give you an idea what a bad thing sedans are for SPL. I had a system that would do 140dB in my sedan. Then I put it in a space cab ute (nothing changed, same box and everything and it would do around 144-145dB. Makes a difference.
