paco
I want to upgrade my head unit, nothing wrong with my alpine head unit, its just that my corolla has a big a$$ opening and the massive reducing kit just doesn't look right on the car. I've seen the 7 inch double din head units and I'm in love with them. That said, I'm leaning on buying a JVC -AVX 810 just like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/JVC-KW-AVX810-IN-DASH-...A1%7C240%3A1308 I love the fact that its a removable face plate, I'm in Chicago a little too much to risk a $500 radio That said this JVC seems to be the only double din that offers a face off function. Anybody here running this head unit? What are your opinions about the head unit? Trade you my dog for it. He has one eye but that only makes for bad depth perception so hey so what if he is running into shit, look at it this way he is easy to sneak up ninja style on. Audiobahnaholic
I love my JVC. Can't say one thing bad about it and the 7band eq is nice. paco
I've had good experiences with JVC, although I haven't bought any of their products for about 5 or 6 years. I'm digging the positive feedback so far Quote 1996 Impala, just a weekend toy Molesting the wicked streets of chitown (next in line for sounds) 2006 Corolla...current audio head ache and money pit Alpine cda 9881 head unit pioneer 6x9's Hiphonics 6.5 components power acustik tweeters Not installed but in the to install list: Hifonics Brutus BXI 2080D 2600 watts rms 2 12" Kicker L7's Dual 4 ohm subs wired at 2 ohms each = 1 ohm load 0 gauge wire, MLA module
Audiobahnaholic
As you can see in my sig, I've got the KD-AVX1 with the 3" screen. That screen has such good quality that you can watch movies and know what they are it has a feel like it's bigger. As I said before I LOVE IT Quote HU: JVC KD-AVX1Speakers: Stock BlazerSub: 2 Mass Destruction Car Audio Sidewinder 12"Amp: Orion HCCA-D1200 @ 1ohm (600 RMS)Box: 3.0 cubes tuned to
AI James
its a decent unit, i know a local person selling a Pioneer AVIC D3 thoguh for about 450 plus shipping and i much rather own a pioneer over JVC unless it was Arsenal
Charger
My old JVC was great. Bulletproof little unit took tonnes of abuse in many loud cars. The USB interface was one of the best I've used. The only bad bit about that model is the tiny buttons on the bottom of the face, but that's just me being picky. paco
I would take a pioneer over a jvc all day, my reason for choosing the JVC over other brands is the fact that the face plate is detachable. Im in love with the pioneer double din models, if only they had come with a detachable face. AI James
eh detactable faces on a double din dont really deter thiefs here where i live lol they go to one of the MANY stereo shops and get another face. yes ssadly there are some shops here that sell a multitude of nothign but faceplates only.
