Latest Build!..... S-10 Blazer -- Complete Apr 24 --

Recommended Posts

Thanks all for the positive comments.. This one is getting there - I just need to cut the last baffle and get that front section clearanced and installed. That'll be a good day when I lay the first layer of glass on the inside of the baffle(s)....

I am not sure why anyone would question your methods...... look at the previous work done to the white Sausage. This is going to be spectacular when it is done. I will shut up now and enjoy the rest of your beautiful work. Oh yeah great job so far.

Lookin good Pat. Don't you love getting advice when you never even asked for it.

Here's a suggestion to all the Monday morning quarterbacks...At least wait until he's finished before you add your "two cents", especially if he didn't ask for it. Sorry to jump on this guy, but that is one of my pet peeves. Chill back and you might learn something..

You guys took the words right out of my mouth.. I don't mind some questioning/suggestions from you guys on the board, but you have to realize that I've been doing this for a long time, probably since you younger guys were toddlers..... I do forget stuff sometimes in my old age, but usually not the bracing or depth of the front baffle..... or the port...... :senile smiley:

my bad, i'll just sit back and stare=)

i meant to say something more along the lines of "do you think double baffle will be enough, or are you planning on bracing it somehow? and that's some sick craftsmnship btw, i wish i could afford the proper tools to do a professional job like that"

sry if i came off the wrong way, i just know the last time I built a box with a baffle half that size and 3 12's, it flexed like hell, till I threw a 2x4 in there as a brace, but i guess u got that all on lock.

No worries, you guys are just looking out for us.

"proper tools" is a loose term.... My jasper jig was a pile of different length 1/2" mdf pieces that my sears router from 1982 would mount to... each one had the hole cutout diameter written on it in sharpie. Replaced those with a real jig about a year ago.... My table saw was a circular saw with a 2x4 guide.... my assistant(s) are still a cinderblock and a big rock (double as a tire chocks and sometimes hammers too....) Make do with what you have... "proper" tools make woodworking more precise and safe, but not always easier, never cheaper....

Thanks again for all the comments - more pics tomorrow...

I love car audio so much because I will never be done. I can never win, and I will never get it finished or perfect. It always has me coming back for more, I can never get my fill of it, but I get what I need.
