IH8PunkRok Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 so i need to make some major vibrations from a sub and i figured subharmonics would be a good way to do so. however i cant quite get wut im lookin for. basically wut i want is a synthetic 15 or so hertz. because the sub i have (little 10 inch from wally world) cant reporduce 15 hz very well.. am i on the right path to makin more vibrations or am i barking up the wrong tree? oh this is for a physics project. i need this sub to make alot of vibrations to shake something loose -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
tejcurrent Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 If you google and download audacity you can create sine waves. Realm Of Excursion has a download section where you might find one. Not sure if that answers your questions. Are you trying to build an enclosure to help it do this or free air or what? tejcurrent XS Power T3
HHR Ed Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 would be easier to use a larger diameter driver like a 15", 18", or 21" sub. You would need to build a large sealed enclosure and use an amplifier without a subsonic filter. You can use a tone generator or even a test CD with recorded test tones in that range. aznboi3644 Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 well if the enclosure can't be changed than you are shit out of luck...
Forevrbumpn Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 I was going to mention, what you can do is get 2 subs, and 2 boxes, and tuned them about 7.5 hz or 15 hz ( I forget which ) separate from each other to make 15hz without strain on a sub actually producing 15hz should be like 1 box at 30hz, and the other 45hz, playing same tone I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
