Memphisman
ok i am thinkin probly 36 hz, it does seem big, but i am going to trust it, since that info was put our by memphis, i just dont want to go too much lower under 40 hz cause i dont want it to sound like butt because of the wrong tuning.. i am totally new to ported boxes, i have always gone sealed just because its easier.. i have read a little about if i go to much under the tune amount of hz, it can actually damage the speaker, is that true? thats the main thing that i am concerned about
tudski
the 2.5 cu per sub is what Memphis says is optimum for that speaker, so thats what i am going to do, so i should port up? instead of just to the back? what amount of cu ft would u recommend? i am new to ported boxes, and memphis said tune for 40 hz, does that sound about right? subs up, port to the back of the car Quote 1996 deville on 18" full face rims -2 gauge wire. -a2400db -RE SE-X in a 4ftc box tuned to 32hz -tview touch double din -rockford punch 6x9s(rear) -mtx 6.5(front) front and rear stage will soon be changed build log will start as soon as it aint cold! CR Boom
Set your subsonic filter at or just below tuning freQ.... Make the port removable and just use a block off plate after you find the way you like it ...I suggest port to the back.
