nick_19
Theft has shot up in my town and I have been wanting a piece of mind for a while so here it goes. I was looking around for a while and I think I have settled on this alarm: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=18652 What do y'all think? I'm not exactly alarm savvy, but this seems like it will get what I want done: paging, shock sensor, big ass siren Question: do you think it will sense/go off if a window is broken? Thanks y'all. I appreciate all comments! mbdblue
its not a bad one....kinda on the basic side, but thats just my opinion...and to answer your question, yes it will but not by frequency...the shock sensor would take care of it. Just something to make me feel secure when I go see a movie/go to the mall. How hard are these to install? audiofanaticz
Id really get a Directed alarm (viper, python, avitel, clifford). In order for you to have your alarm to trigger by a breaking window, or by someone tossing a penny at the window, you need to buy a glass sensor. Its a little unit that plugs into the brain box and has a mic you stash in your car, there is also a dial on it to set its sensitivity. Im not sure if you can get that add on for a crimeguard, but Im sure you can, but make sure your brain will allow the addition of a glass sensor. Neel
X2 on the directed alarms, ive installed them in a good amount of cars and have yet to have one crap out. If not directed , Autopage is also another great option. As far as the install goes, it depends on your car and if you want to do remote start or not. Remote start can be a pain sometimes when you need to bypass your factory immobilizer. Quote Too Much Stuff to list .

Noob_On_Droid
Your shock sensor should take care of window damage. Mine has the sensitivity set all the way down and it warns me if I lightly kick a tire or knee the bumper by accident, its not super loud but makes me feel a bit better when I leave the ride

My shock sensor is all the way up too. However, with my glass sensor you can drop/toss (not throw or flick) a penny on the glass it triggers the glass sensor which sounds the alarm. A hammer to a window a shock sensor will pick up. A spark plug, or glass breaker to the window, or jingling your keys on the window lightly a glass sensor will pick up.
