loganberry Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 all i got to say is that if your going to buy a diesel truck, Do not what so ever get a ford or a dodge, not saying dodge doesnt make good trucks but their suspension is shit. IMO the best truck you can get is a Duramax With the Allison tranny. the duramax is proven to be more powerful than ford. and the Allison is the best transmission you can buy period. the ford motor and tranny both suck, the dodge suspension and frame suck. the motor btw is very good. But imo i have owned a Duramax with Allison and a dodge, i will never go back to dodge ever again. The ford on the other hand i have ridden in and driven, and wont touch one with a 10 foot pole. you obviously have not been around the new fords more than once, there suspensions are GREAT...they ride a little rough but what can you expect from a 1ton.....put a lil weight in the back and it rides like a fuckin caddy.......now onto your claim about the motor, uhh this is one of the most advanced stock motors a diesel has put out, diesel lag has been an issue in the past with turbos from ALL manufacturers, on the fords it isnt, 1 turbo being devoted entirely to take off, and the other keepin you go....pretty bad ass imo, not to mention it pushing 35 lbs of boost STOCK and bein quiet as a mouse........the trannys have no issue either...although i wil admit its not the strongest as sometimes it can shift a lil hard but im not to convinced that thats not a computer problem rather than a problem itself with the tranny not all this being said, all this means is its a PERSONAL prefference, every1 will have their own opinion and no1 will sway it so thats the end of it My F-150 Build GET ON THE BANDWAGON what if they tried messing with the amps when the subs werent louder hahah jk

I work for a steel fabrication and welding shop and we drive a Chevy 3500 king cab with long bed and we have a 500 pound welder plus equipment in the back and a trailer like all the time, and it rides smooth and doesn't have any problem with the power. I like the transmission and just the Chevy all around but that's me, dodge makes good trucks i just prefer Chevy, for i really don't care for at all. their motors are pretty garbage except for the new ones ill give you that. but they have had way to many problems and what not. their frames are solid but suspension is pretty bad imo. Thats just my opinion tho.

(we loaded both of those up with 3 thousand pounds of wood each to build 2 decks... They BOTH took it and ran GREAT.. neither one had problems EVER since owning it... we haul 27 foot racecar trailors loaded with latemodel race cars in them.. go kart trailors hell 33 foot campers and 22 foot chaparell boats.. they all drive great.. we had a 99 chevy 3500 dually that we sold after putting 10 on it because it couldnt do shit.. my dads first new car was a 97 1500 ram we traded in on a 98 navi with 2000 miles on it because the engine had a tick in it.. WE love ford products they have never treated us wrong.... The set up your talking about would sound great in my Tahoe. Trade you my dog for it. He has one eye but that only makes for bad depth perception so hey so what if he is running into shit, look at it this way he is easy to sneak up ninja style on. (right side only)</div>

(the wood) so it didnt just dump on the road.... but the engines and rear ends are taking it... the 99 just NOW needs a cat.... but other than that its perfect... thats the first problem we have had with that truck.. Fish Chris Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Well, of course this is just MPO, but I think an F250 which is slammed, just looks plain wrong. Granted, you would probably think my truck looks plain wrong too.... But I love it, and it's ALL me :-) I'd either do nothing to the suspension of an F250, or lift it. Heck, I'd sooner lift an F250 "even if" it were a 2wd, than I would lower it. F150's can go either way...... slammed, or lifted, but I prefer lifted on those also. I just bought a brand new 2wd 08' F150 5 months ago, and might eventually do just enough of a lift, to run 35"s. As for it being dumb to lift a 2wd.... That is not the general concensus on the F150 forums. It's all for looks anyway, just as it is when you slam a truck. But honestly, if I were going to buy a new truck, and were dead set on slamming it, I'd get an 08' Tundra. Fastest truck on the market too, if that matters to you. I bought my F150 to actually be used as a truck though. Peace, Fish
