CR Boom
I have a question about box Rise. 1) 4 subs shared air space and shared port. 2) 4 subs individual boxes and ports. Which box will have more rise? How much does power and Airspace have to play in the box rise equation, If any?? 2007 Great Wall So Cool 4-12' RE audio MX's Stetsom 7k2D 6-Batts 3-Mechman 250 amp Rhino's
Boon
I don't think power has much to do with it. Box has everything to do with it. Small box = small rise, I think ;/ Not really sure about the answer to your question though sorry. I expect it would work out the same, assuming the total volume and total port etc all worked out the same. 10.x volts fo' life!
audiofanaticz
You will also have less rise if you use 1 amp per sub vs 1 bigger amp for all 4 subs.
CR Boom
1 Amp per sub Should be less power loss due to rise?? 2007 Great Wall So Cool 4-12' RE audio MX's Stetsom 7k2D 6-Batts 3-Mechman 250 amp Rhino's
00sdime00
1 Amp per sub Should be less power loss due to rise?? Yep. With one amp on all 4 subs, your impedence rise will be higher than with 1 amp per sub. In effect, you are multiplying the impedence rise with all 4 coils(assuming they are SVC) on one amp. Make sense? A half-wit gave you a piece of his mind, and you held on to it. CR Boom
Yes that makes sense.... What is the best why to combat that,, Individual boxes versus one large??? 2007 Great Wall So Cool 4-12' RE audio MX's Stetsom 7k2D 6-Batts 3-Mechman 250 amp Rhino's
banginAltima
Generally, then more power and/or smaller the box the more rise you get. Just from my testing... I had one Sundown 1500 rise from .5 ohms resting to .9 ohms on a burp. Went to a Sundown 2000, rise went from resting at .5 to 1.1 ohms on a burp. Box size and subs all were the same. Switch to some different subs and two Sundown 1500, went from resting at .5 each amp up to 4 ohms. If you build it, db's will come...
