Ok, so we've all seen the failures of the last two high power builds. I've had many a good system in my car that I built.

Ever since running into this site, however, I've been watching everyone else's builds and everybody blew me away. I tried to go all out knowing nothing and I bit off more than I could chew.

Just in the last six months I've learned a lot about building and car audio in general. More than I knew existed actually! This build is hopefully going to work out and be a reflection of everything I've learned.

I've reduced the cone area, but I now have sufficient air space for all my subs. I've reduced the power, but that due to lack of sub capability. I'm starting off with 4000W across 16 10s, then upgrading the 10s later and using 8000.

I worked on it all weekend at work and here's what I've come up with...

Framing:

I'm keeping the floor pieces, so I sanded them down.

Baffles:

Broke my cheapo and threw it out. I attempted a fix with a pipe clamp, but failed..

Fiberglassed the corners for a little added support, but they were fine. I actually glassed over L braces that pulled everything together.

Got the baffles in and test fit the allthread:

Using this 1" dowel to make spacers to flush out the nuts and washers:

Drilled holes and pained them black, then painted them white. I changed my mind.

Sealed everything up:

And got a coat of primer on the inside

I'm going to sand down the high spots and I'm thinking about rounding all of the interior edges tomorrow. Until then, lemme know what you think or how I could have done something better!

I made two mistakes so far...

1. I forgot to put my damn headliner back in before the build.

2. Forgot to compensate for some edging in the front, but no harm to integrity.

i would definately add more support between the spans of subs. here is a good test....put a pencil on a surface...use a hammer next to the pencil, if you can make the pencil bounce, add more support

same subs?

Yeah, but since I did all the math for this one, I designed it for upgrade in the near future. I'm gonna put these in for now then upgrade to some other company bigger subs later.

Yeah, I was thinking that might be an issue, even with the allthread. I'll try that test after I get the allthread in, that way it's a practical application. Thanks!
